The bolt threads bite into the nylon insert to prevent nuts from working loose. Not recommended for use in high temperatures.

Once removed, it is recommended to reinstall new nuts for best retention of locking properties. Note: all galvanised nyloc nuts are tapped oversize by 0.4mm to ensure free fitting to galvanised bolting.
